Alexander Jones

For about as long as I can remember I desired to create art. I started with creating an
assembly of cartoon characters, and in a few following years I focused on illustrating animals.
But it was not until college where I became introduced to what is my favorite medium into which to create art, vine charcoal and a handy kneadable eraser. As messy as it was to use, the results I achieved from carefully etching away at the charcoal with my eraser has almost always been worth it.

For a couple years afterward I had difficulty figuring out what to use for colored pieces. I
did not click with paint, and was not happy with the results of colored pencils, pens, or oil
pastels. In 2022, I soon found that chalk pastels looked superb mixed with charcoal.
With that discovery I created more art than ever before. Now as a member of MMFAS, I can
share what I craft and get feedback on how to work my styles.
